Selected works

From sixty square metres to a thousand.

Twenty-two private apartments and houses, and three public spaces: a restaurant, a children’s educational centre in Moscow, and an office for an international logistics company. Most of the work has been built in Saint Petersburg and Moscow, and now in Dubai.

The largest private project on our list. Planning solution first, then room by room visualisation, then the working documentation the builders actually held on site.

Sixty square metres, so the planning solution carries everything. Get storage and circulation right in a flat this size and the rest of the design has room to breathe.

A thousand square metres for children. Public work under the same rule as the apartments: it has to survive the people who use it every day, and still be somewhere they want to be.

Colour

Five patches on the wall, and a week of looking at them.

Finishing materials are chosen in the room they will live in, never from a fan deck. We brush the candidates onto the wall at full size, leave them up, and look at them in daylight and again under the lamps before the visualisation is signed off and anything is ordered.

Feature walls, where a room needs weight against large glazing.

Joinery carcasses, and the inside faces of deep reveals.

Sand Wash

Children’s rooms and bedrooms, where the light has to bounce.

Gypsum Cream

Trim, doors, and ceilings in north facing rooms.

Matt emulsion throughout. The ceiling goes one step lighter than the wall it meets, never plain white, so the plane above a room never reads as a lid.

House styles

ScandinavianPale timber, quiet walls, very little ornament, and daylight treated as the main material in the room.

Modern Art DecoDeeper tones, brass and glass, symmetry held firmly, and one strong gesture allowed per room.

How we work

Four stages, and we stay on site to the end.

We hold the project from the first collage to the last delivery of materials. The team is architects, 3D visualisers, engineers and builders, so the drawings and the build answer to the same people.

01

Preliminary Sketch

The stylistic direction of the interior is settled, the technical task is prepared, and we produce planning decisions and collages for every room in the property.

Project Visualisation

Detailed visualisation of each room. 3D images built with the interior elements and finishing materials already selected, so what you approve is what gets ordered.

Working Documentation

The full set for an interior design project: specifications, and the planning solution with the furniture on it, drawn so a builder can work straight from the sheet.

Author’s Supervision

We monitor the build against the project plan. Our designer and engineer carry out quality control on a regular basis, and we supervise the project and the purchase of materials.

Questions

The things people ask before they get in touch.

Short answers to the practical questions: where the work happens, in which language, and what a project actually involves.

Where is the studio based, and where do you take on projects?

Anna is based in Dubai and takes on full design projects and renovations across the UAE: apartments, villas and the occasional commercial space. The studio has its roots in Saint Petersburg, where part of the team is still based, with regular projects in Moscow.

Do you work with Russian-speaking clients?

Yes. A large part of the client base moves between the UAE and Russia, and every project can be run in Russian or in English, from the first conversation through to the working drawings.

What does a full design project include?

Four stages. A preliminary sketch settles the style and the planning decisions, with collages for every room. Project visualisation produces 3D images of each room with the finishes and furniture already selected. Working documentation gives the builders drawings they can build from. Author’s supervision keeps the designer on site until the last delivery of materials.

What kind of spaces do you design?

Private apartments and houses from sixty square metres upwards, and public spaces up to a thousand. The work so far includes twenty-two private apartments and houses, a restaurant, a children’s educational centre in Moscow and an office for an international logistics company.

What styles do you work in?

Mainly Scandinavian and Modern Art Deco, though every project starts from the client and the space rather than from a catalogue. Proportion, light and one leading material are settled before a single finish is chosen.

How do I start a project with you?

Send the enquiry form with where the space is, roughly how big it is, and what you want it to become. Anna comes back with how she would run the project, stage by stage. If a call is easier, the Russian number on the site takes WhatsApp, and the Dubai number takes calls.

Project blueprints

Drawings a builder can work from.

A design becomes buildable in the working documentation. This is the part clients rarely see and contractors judge you on, so we draw it properly: the planning solution, the furniture on it, and a specification for every room.

Planning Solution

Walls, openings, circulation

Where the walls go and how you move between them, agreed before a single finish is discussed. In a small apartment this stage decides everything that follows.

Furniture Plan

Every piece drawn to size

Each item set out at its real dimensions on the plan, so a family can see what fits, what blocks a door, and what has to be made rather than bought.

Specifications

Room by room schedules

Finishes, fittings and lighting listed room by room, with the materials we then purchase and check on delivery as part of author’s supervision.

Order a project

Tell us about the space.

Where it is, how big it is, and who is going to live in it. We come back with how we would run the project, stage by stage.
